Bloop Colored
Colored. Messed with the values so that it resembled deep ocean a little more. All in all, I like it.
Sea Monster
Participating in the cghub creature planet challenge "The Bloop". You can read about it here. You have to come up with what could make the sound.
I'm not too crazy about the volcanic vents. It needs something else.

The Duel
Really pushing some perspective in this one. It's fun to experiment.
I get the feeling that color is going to take this to a much higher level.

New Hardware
I received my new graphics tablet and of course it doesn't really work with wacom's drivers on their site. The pressure sensitivity didn't work, so I uninstalled those drivers and used the one that came with the tablet and now it works peachy keen.
It's a lot larger than my old bamboo. Plus now I have four times the buttons to map to keys or functions. I'm only using about half so far as I can't think of any more to shortcut. The touch controls work for the most part, but they're a little choppy at times.
I'm going to experiment with a new piece. I have the initial sketch posted below. I'm going to take it two different directions. First scifi then fantasy. I guess this'll show of my versatility to potential clients.
Also update on the Final Fantasy Piece.

Ruined Temple

I did this drawing way back in August 2010. I'm not the greatest with perspective (linear and atmospheric) so it took me a little while to draw it. The bottom image was my first attempt at coloring a sketch in photoshop and the updated coloring is on the top. It's not so bad, but I clearly didn't know what I was doing. I feel better about the updated version, though I might prefer the value painting to the actual colored image. Next environment is taking a lot longer than I thought and it doesn't help that the two point perspective is giving me serious trouble. Teaching yourself something completely basic as perspective takes practice, but I'm slowly getting better.
