Long Time

So, I went to an illustrator's convention...and I feel meh about it. There were two talks out of the seven I went to that were worth it. After I got back, I did not feel like creating anything for a while. I was so put off by the entire experience, I didn't create anything for a month or so. On top of wasting a lot of money I could have used to upgrade my tools. So no, I will not be attending Illuxcon in the future.

Finally I feel like I'm back in the groove of things. Painting all day every day off feels good.

I'm not too crazy about the volcanic vents. It needs something else.

I downloaded the vertex book for gaming related topics. At the end is a competition to create a historical person as a fighting character. I'm going to do two. Can you guess the first one?

Finished an art test for prospective employers. We'll see what happens.

Colored

Piece colored. Experimented with filters and layer settings. I really wanted the jewel-like colors you see on a sunny day.

Really pushing some perspective in this one. It's fun to experiment.

I get the feeling that color is going to take this to a much higher level.

Cleaned, tidied up, color corrected.

When things don't work

Colors are on. At first it felt like i didn't know what the hell I was doing. I kept putting stuff down and none of it was meshing. Then I looked at me handy dandy color wheel for 5 minutes and I had a direction. Went with a tetrad scheme this time.

Remember guys, anyone can instinctively know where to put something somewhere. You need practice and study to do it with confidence.

A little more tweaking and we'll call this done.
