Long Time

So, I went to an illustrator's convention...and I feel meh about it. There were two talks out of the seven I went to that were worth it. After I got back, I did not feel like creating anything for a while. I was so put off by the entire experience, I didn't create anything for a month or so. On top of wasting a lot of money I could have used to upgrade my tools. So no, I will not be attending Illuxcon in the future.

Finally I feel like I'm back in the groove of things. Painting all day every day off feels good.

Commissar Final

Learned a lot by doing this. Never used the dodge or the variety of blur effects available. Overall I think it's successful.

Commissar Progression

Created this over the course of yesterday and a bit today. I like discovering new uses for a brush I wouldn't think to use. I made the box texture using my "fur" brush. Coloring later.

Imperial Guard - Fight!

A scene of conflict from the Warhammer 40k universe. I usually liked the Imperial Guard stories more than the mythical space marines. Easier to identify with, I guess. Have a grumpy day.

Another for the God-Emperor of Mankind! Space Marines are fun to draw. Still making up a lot of details, but I think that's okay since the books usually describe the chapters and legions differently.

For the Emperor!

I'm a big-ish fan of the Warhammer 40k universe. I couldn't remember what a space marine of the Imperium of Man looked like, so I fudged some details. I think the overall effect is still there. Burn heretics!

... and have a grumpy day. More 40k on Monday.
